Russian Helicopter to Become Outright Leader In Its Class
The increase in operational life of several components of the multi-purpose Ansat helicopter, approved by the Federal Air Transport Agency, means it is set to become the outright leader in its class, as reported in the press release issued by the Russian Helicopters Holding Company. The changes will make the helicopter more attractive to operators and potential customers.
According to the holding company’s general director, Andrei Boginsky, the Ansat is a solid competitor for its foreign counterparts in terms of operation costs and a host of other specifications, and Russian experts are convinced that there are several directions for further development of the project. For example, test results conducted by employees of the Russian Helicopters Holding Company confirmed that the helicopter can perform in high-altitude conditions at altitudes of up to three and a half thousand metres.
The Ansat is a light multi-purpose helicopter, mass-produced at the Kazan Helicopter Plant. According to its certification, the helicopter’s design means it can be quickly transformed both into cargo and passenger versions that can transport up to seven people.
